The UK’s Best and Worst Universities for Student Sexual Health Services

Do all universities offer the same dedicated support and advice for students when it comes to their sexual health? In a bid to get students more aware of the services on offer to them, ZAVA takes a look at the universities providing the best (and worst) sexual health clinics and services.

2013 Report Card Results

The University of Nottingham has taken top billing in the first UK University Sexual Health Report Card. Nottingham reached the top for its easy access to sexual health facilities, website information, HIV & STI testing, and contraception availability.

Three universities achieved a "first" for their sexual health facilities:

  1. Nottingham
  2. Kings College London
  3. Bristol.

Anatole Menon-Johansson, Clinical Director at Brook, The Young People's Sexual Health Charity said "I think developing a comprehensive scorecard will be a useful way to improve quality in sexual & reproductive health services for students across the UK"

About The Sexual Health Report Card

ZAVA's Sexual Health Report Card is the first annual measure of UK university's sexual health facilities. In light of recent government cuts to sexual health services, we decided to create a benchmark, so that universities can track their sexual health services and work to improve their areas of weakness.

The report card calls attention to the state of sexual health on campuses nationwide by ranking them according to the accessibility of sexual health resources and information available to students.
