Travel rules are changing at the end of October. If you are travelling after this time, please review the latest guidelines before ordering testing.

Day 2 testing step by step guide

1) Order your test

  • This test is for anyone who is fully vaccinated and is arriving in England from an amber list country.
  • This test is for any children travelling who are between the ages of 5 and 18.

If you are unsure if this test is for you or have any queries about your order, you can contact our Customer Support team on 020 3588 0292, 7 days a week.

2) Record your test booking reference number

After ordering your test, you will receive two emails. The first email will contain your order confirmation, and the second email will contain your 'test booking reference number'. You must note down your 'test booking reference number' as you will need this to complete your passenger locator form.

3) Activate and take your test

Follow the instructions included with your test kit to activate and take your test.

IMPORTANT:

Do not forget to note down your P number. You can find this on the outside of your test kit box and on the sheet of stickers you need to attach to your sample.

4) Return your test

You can return your test by posting it using a Royal Mail priority post box.

IMPORTANT:

If you are posting your test, you must make a note of your Royal Mail tracking ID. You will need this number to identify your test if there are any delivery issues. You can find this number under the barcode on the postal tracking label attached to your test kit.

Please note: If you post your test kit on a Sunday, there may be delays in receiving your results. We recommend posting on Saturday before 12pm if possible.

5) Get results

You will receive your test results and information on what to do next in your patient account within 48 hours of receipt by Royal Mail.

How Day 2 testing works

If you have received 2 doses of a vaccine that’s been administered by the NHS or approved by the EU or US and you’re entering England from an amber list country, you will need to take a test within 2 days to check for COVID-19.

All you have to do is:

  1. Order your Day 2 test before entering England.
  2. Make a note of your booking reference number. You will need to enter this on your passenger locator form when you enter England.
  3. Activate and take your Day 2 test within two days of entering England
  4. Pack and return your sample via the prepaid Tracked24 envelope included. Don’t forget to write down your tracking reference number and post your test before the last priority collection to avoid delays. Check priority post box times.
  5. We will email you to let you know when your results are in your patient account. You should get your results within 48 hours of receipt by Royal Mail.

If you test negative for COVID-19, you are free to continue as normal. If you test positive, you will need to self isolate in line with government guidance.

Completing your passenger locator form

Before travelling to England, you will need to complete a passenger locator form. To do this, you need a 'test booking reference' number. We will email this to you after you have ordered your test. This number will always begin with ‘ZVAGB’.

Please note, it can take up to 30 minutes to receive the email containing your ‘test booking reference’. If you do not receive this within 30 minutes, please contact our Customer Support team.

Always enter your test booking reference where requested, exactly as it is shown in the email and list ‘ZAVA’ as your test kit supplier.
