Viagra is a PDE5 inhibitor (sildenafil), taken as a tablet before sexual activity. It is licensed for erectile dysfunction in adult men. It works by increasing blood flow to the penis in response to sexual stimulation, rather than causing an erection on its own. It typically takes 30-60 minutes to take effect and lasts around 4 hours; it does not work without sexual stimulation.
