About Viagra Connect
-
-
Viagra Connect is an over-the-counter version of Viagra, the most popular treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED) in the world. It is only available at a dosage of 50mg, but you do not need a doctor’s prescription to buy it.
-
-
Viagra Connect works by improving the blood flow to your penis. The active ingredient in Viagra Connect is sildenafil and it belongs to a group of medications called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE-5) inhibitors. These medications relax the blood vessels in your penis, which improves blood flow to the area. This makes it easier to get and maintain an erection hard enough for sex when you’re sexually aroused. If you’re not sexually aroused, Viagra Connect won’t work.
Viagra Connect does not help delay ejaculation, though a lot of men with premature ejaculation will also have erectile dysfunction.
What if Viagra Connect doesn’t work for me?
If Viagra Connect doesn’t work for you, try again another day. Your doctor will recommend trying it 8 times before changing your dose or suggesting a different ED treatment.
You should also avoid drinking alcohol and grapefruit juice as this can make it more difficult to get an erection. You should let your doctor know if you take any other medications that could affect how well Viagra Connect works.
-
-
Viagra Connect is effective for around 74% of people who take it and has been used for many years as an ED treatment. Clinical trials have shown that Viagra Connect is effective in helping men to get and maintain erections.

If Viagra Connect is not right for you, there are alternative erectile dysfunction treatments that you may be able to try with a doctor’s approval. Many alternative medications for ED are also PDE-5 inhibitors, such as:
- Sildenafil – this is the generic form of Viagra that contains the same active ingredient and works in exactly the same way. Generic treatments are usually cheaper and more often prescribed on the NHS.
- Cialis (the brand name for tadalafil) – known as the weekend pill, Cialis lasts for up to 36 hours after taking it, so you have a longer window when you can have sex. It’s also available as Cialis Daily, which you take every single day, so you’re ready to have sex whenever you want to.
- Levitra (the brand name for vardenafil) – Levitra is effective for around 54 to 74% of people who take it and is available in 3 different doses like Viagra. There is also a generic version of this medication called vardenafil.
- Spedra – this is the fastest acting ED treatment and gets to work in 15 to 30 minutes after taking it. This is ideal if you want to be ready for sex quickly or if other treatments haven’t been as effective for you.
You can also request an ED trial pack from ZAVA. This way, you can try different ED medications and find which one works best for you.
Can I take Viagra Connect with other ED medications?
No, you should not take more than one ED medication at a time. This could be dangerous and increase the risk of side effects. It will not improve the effectiveness of your ED treatment. If you believe your ED medication is not working, you can speak to your doctor about trying an alternative treatment.
