Incomplete or Unvaccinated Arrivals

If you are not recognised as fully vaccinated and are arriving in the UK from a country that is not on the red travel list, you must take a Day 2 and Day 8 test and quarantine for 10 days once you arrive in the UK. If you want to leave quarantine early, you can take a Test to Release on Day 5 of quarantine and leave if you receive a negative test result.

Treatment Options

ZAVA has partnered with one of Europe’s leading medical diagnostics providers, SYNLAB, to offer COVID-19 testing (testing provided by Southwest Pathology Services, part of SYNLAB Group). SYNLAB is a UKAS accredited private provider listed on GOV.UK for COVID-19 testing. How to Order

1) Order your test pack

  • Order the Day 2 and 8 test pack if you are not recognised as fully vaccinated and are arriving in the UK from any country that is not on the red travel list.
  • If you already have a Day 2 and 8 test pack and want to leave quarantine early with a negative test result, order a Test to Release.
  • These tests are not for children. Children between 5 and 18 years old need a Day 2 lateral flow test.

If you are unsure if this test is for you or have any queries about your order, you can contact our Customer Support team on 020 3588 0292, 7 days a week.

2) Record your test booking reference number

After ordering your test pack, you will receive two emails. The first email will contain your order confirmation, and the second email will contain your 'test booking reference number'. You must note down your 'test booking reference number' as you will need this to complete your passenger locator form.

3) Activate and take your Day 2 PCR test

Within 2 days of arrival, follow the instructions included with your test kit to activate and take your first test.

IMPORTANT:

Do not forget to note down your P number. You can find this on the outside of your test kit box and on the sheet of stickers you need to attach to your sample.

4) Return your Day 2 PCR test

You can return your test by posting it using a Royal Mail priority post box.

We recommend that you avoid posting your test kit on a Sunday, as there may be delays in receiving your results. Instead, post your test kit on a Saturday before 12pm, if possible.

IMPORTANT:

You must make a note of your Royal Mail tracking ID. You will need this to identify your test if there are any delivery issues. You can find this number under the barcode on the postal tracking label attached to your test kit.

5) Get your results

You will receive your test results and information on what to do next in your ZAVA patient account, within 48 hours of receipt by Royal Mail.

  • If you test positive for COVID-19, you must self isolate for 10 days from the date you took your test.
  • If you test negative for COVID-19, you must continue to quarantine until you have received results from your second test.

6) Complete your next test (Day 8 PCR or Test to Release)

Repeat the instructions above to take and return your next test.

Day 8 PCR Test:

  • If you test positive for COVID-19, you must self isolate for 10 days from the date you took your test.
  • If you test negative for COVID-19, you can leave quarantine after your 10th day of quarantine.

Test To Release:

  • If you test positive for COVID-19, you must self isolate for 10 days from the date you took your test.
  • If you test negative for COVID-19, you can leave quarantine as soon as you’ve received your results

Which tests do I need to enter the UK?

If you are not recognised as being fully vaccinated and are travelling from any country outside of the red travel list, you must order and take a Day 2 and 8 test pack and quarantine for 10 days.

If you want to leave quarantine early with a negative test result, you can order and take a Test to Release.

If you are fully vaccinated and travelling from any country outside of the red travel list, you only need to take a Day 2 lateral flow test.

How Day 2 and 8 testing works

If you are not recognised as fully vaccinated and are entering the UK from a country that is not on the red travel list, you must take a Day 2 and 8 test and quarantine for 10 days. If you want to leave quarantine early with a negative test result, you must take a Test to Release.

All you have to do is:

  • Order your tests
  • Make a note of your booking reference number. You will need to enter this on your passenger locator form when you enter the UK.
  • Activate and take your Day 2 PCR test within your first 2 days of quarantine
  • Pack and return your sample via the prepaid Tracked24 envelope included. Don’t forget to write down your tracking reference number and post your test before the last priority collection to ensure there are no delays. Check priority post box times.
  • We will email you to let you know when your results are in your ZAVA patient account. You should get your results within 48 hours of receipt by Royal Mail.
  • If you test negative you will need to take, activate and return your next test. If this is a Test to Release, you must do this on day 5 of your quarantine. If this is a Day 8 PCR test, you do this on day 8-10 of your quarantine. You must remain in quarantine until you have completed the full 10 days (unless you take a Test to Release and the result is negative)
  • If you test positive for COVID-19 on any of your tests, you will need to remain in quarantine for a further 10 days from the day after you took the test. You will not need to take any further tests.

IMPORTANT:

You are still required by law to complete a Day 8 PCR test even if you take a Test to Release and leave quarantine early with a negative test result.

Completing your passenger locator form

Before travelling to the UK, you will need to complete a passenger locator form. For this, you need a 'test booking reference number’. We will email this to you after you have ordered your test. This number will always begin with ‘ZVAGB’.

Please note, it can take up to 30 minutes to receive the email containing your ‘test booking reference’. If you do not receive this within 30 minutes, please contact our Customer Support team.

Always enter your test booking reference where requested, exactly as it is shown in the email and list ‘ZAVA’ as your test kit supplier.

If you ordered a Test to Release from ZAVA, but ordered your Day 2 and 8 test pack from another provider, they should supply you with your ‘test booking reference number’.
