Fit to Fly step by step guide

1) Order your test

This test is for anyone who is leaving the UK and needs to show evidence of a negative COVID-19 test.

  • This test is not for children under 5 years old. Children under 5 do not need a test.
  • If you are unsure if this test is for you or have any queries about your order, you can contact our Customer Support team on 020 3588 0292, 7 days a week.

2) Check travel guidelines

Review the travel guidelines for your destination, so you know when to take your test. For most countries, this will be within 72 hours before departure.

3) Activate and take your test

When it’s time to take your test, follow the instructions included with your test kit to activate and take your test.

IMPORTANT:

Do not forget to note down your P number. You can find this on the outside of your test kit box and on the sheet of stickers you need to attach to your sample.

4) Return your test

You can return your test using a Royal Mail priority post box.

IMPORTANT:

If you are posting your test, you must make a note of your Royal Mail tracking ID. You will need this number to identify your test if there are any delivery issues. You can find this number under the barcode on the postal tracking label attached to your test kit.

Please note: If you post your test kit on a Sunday, there may be delays in receiving your results. We recommend posting on Saturday (before 12pm) to avoid delays.

5) Get results

You will receive your test results and certificate (if you test negative) in your patient account within 48 hours of receipt by Royal Mail.

You must remember to have your results and certificate available at the airport.
