What is this certificate?

This COVID-19 Recovery Certificate shows that the holder, or 'patient', has recently fully recovered from COVID-19. They pose no risk to those around them. This is based on a medical assessment they completed with us.

This certificate can be used as proof of recovery for:

  • international travel and country entry requirements
  • airline requirements
  • access to events
  • access to locations

Important: It is the patient’s responsibility to check that our certificate meets the requirements for the purpose they need it. They should also be ready to present any supporting evidence (for example, test results and dates), if required.

If you are a patient, you should always check the entry requirements of your destination country before travelling.

What does our certificate look like?

See what our COVID-19 Recovery Certificate looks like, below. Both versions are valid. The only difference between these is that certificates issued after 22 February 2022 have a QR code and reference number too.

Use these to check any ZAVA certificate that’s presented to you to confirm it is authentic.

COVID-19 Recovery Certificate - version 1

Version 1 - issued before 22 February 2022

COVID-19 Recovery Certificate - version 2

Version 2 - issued after 22 February 2022

Our certificate states:

  • the patient’s full name, date of birth, passport number, and reference* (this is their order ID when applying for their certificate)
  • the date the patient completed their assessment with us
  • the type of COVID test taken by the patient and the date they took this on
  • when the patient’s symptoms began and ended, if they had any
  • when our doctor reviewed the patient’s details and issued this certificate

Our certificate also has a QR code* linked to this webpage. This QR code is not an EU COVID Pass QR code. EU Digital COVID Pass Readers cannot read this.

* Only displayed on certificates issued after 22 February 2022. Certificates issued before this date are valid as long as they include the other information above.

What does this certificate mean?

Our COVID-19 Recovery Certificate confirms that one of our doctors has assessed the patient and concluded that they:

  • have recovered from COVID-19
  • do not appear to have acute COVID-19 symptoms, and are unlikely to be infectious
  • are fit to travel in relation to COVID-19 only

How was this assessed?

When a patient orders their certificate online from us, we ask them to complete a short online questionnaire. This is to confirm:

  • their personal details (first name, surname, date of birth, passport number)
  • any symptoms, including the date these began and ended
  • that they have not experienced symptoms in the last 72 hours
  • that they don’t need to isolate for any reason
  • that a doctor has not told them they cannot travel for any reason

We also ask them to upload evidence of their positive COVID-19 test result. This can be either a PCR/RT-PCR test or antigen lateral flow test. The patient must have taken this between the last 11 and 180 days.

This evidence must clearly show their test result, test date, and personal identifiers that confirm who this result belongs to.

One of our doctors reviews these details and approves the patient’s certificate, if they qualify.
